We started Tripiamo for three reasons:

Roads are meant for journeying, yet driving abroad comes with challenges. We noticed there was no single source of valuable getting around abroad safety advice (not even from national governments) so we created best-in-class, comprehensive driving guides that help travelers adventure safely.

We prioritize adventure over stress. Don't worry about accidents, fines, or standing out as a tourist. Explore another country worry-free.

We all want those amazing selfies in front of the Colosseum or the Eiffel Tower, but from our extensive travel experience we know the best adventures begin when you venture past the main tourist attractions. We want to eliminate any constraints to help you safely get there.Â
The Founder
John Cortese, previously the lead for travel products and platforms at two Fortune-500 companies, is an avid traveler that’s been to over 50 countries.
Even through extensive travels, John always felt somewhat limited by where he could go and what he could see while abroad. John believes we should be able to navigate anywhere internationally as we would in our home country, even if we don’t speak the same language.Â

David Ornstein
David is a former US Navy officer and is the current Chief Operating Officer of Baton Systems, with over 20 years of experience as an executive in the investment banking industry. David has supported CEOs and founders in scaling their businesses across a variety of industries since 2017.
Margaret Loughran
Margaret is the former Global Head of Loyalty, Travel and Lifestyle Benefits at MasterCard with over twenty five years of experience leading, building and managing global best in class travel services and lifestyle programs, strategic partnerships and digital platforms for affluent and mass market customer bases.
Paul Kramer
Paul is currently the founder of The Loyalty Advisors, a loyalty and travel industry consultancy and a Professor of Marketing at Fordham University teaching graduate classes in Customer Loyalty Programs and Strategic Brand Management. With over 30 years of experience, primarily in the travel and entertainment industries, Paul worked with many of the world’s most recognizable brands and developed travel and marketing solutions for loyalty programs with over 2 billion members.
Beth Adams
Beth Adams is the former Global Head of Corporate Travel Management at MasterCard with over 25 years of experience in global product development, product management, strategic partnerships and operations management. Previously, she was responsible for the development and globalization of the MasterCard consumer travel platform, MasterCard Travel Services, which included sourcing over 1400 travel benefits for MasterCard cardholders globally. Beth also led the co-brand business development team who closed many travel co-brand deals during her tenure.Â
Gary Portuesi
Gary is the founder of Authentic Explorations, a travel and tour company, which has won many accolades including being on Conde Nast Traveler’s Travel Specialist list since 2016, Travel & Leisure’s A-List since 2017 and Robb Report’s Travel Masters list since 2023. Gary has over 24 years of experience building and developing high-impact travel programs at American Express, including creating exclusive travel benefits for American Express cardholders, conceiving and launching the Fine Hotels & Resorts program, as well as developing and managing The Centurion Lounge, American Express’s branded airport lounges.
